2007: “The Silver Crossing”
2007 All School Performance: “The Silver Crossing,” an original musical.
Margaret and Helen (cousins) run a general store and inn in Colorado, after the Civil War. A gambler comes to town, and then an outlaw. There is a Mayor who keeps raising taxes, a sewing circle led by his wife, and other various townspeople. Things start getting interesting when the gambler and the outlaw get into a big card game, and then bandits try to steal the territorial fort’s payroll!
All the students at Running River participated in this performance held at the Nomad Theater. Acting, singing, dancing and lots of fun had the whole audience up and clapping and stomping their feet (especially when the older kids danced the Virginia Reel.
