Question to the Dali Llama: What is the most important meditation we can do now?
The Dali Llama: Critical thinking, followed by action. Discover what your world is, know the plot, the scenario of this human drama and then figure out where your talents might fit in to make a better world. Each of us must do something that makes our heart sing, because no one will want to do it with us unless we’re passionate and inspired.
-the movie “I Am.”
Running River is dedicated to an education that brings forth each child’s talents, gifts and passion, in order that they might, in time, serve this world with those gifts.
In order to make this a daily reality, we balance every aspect of education: an excellent integrated academic program including all subjects; weekly time in nature; the Arts; contemplative practices; nourishing a foundation for life long health (physical fitness and homemade organic lunches); teaching life skills, and a strong emphasis on communication and social skills. We build community through parent involvement and education, and school service projects both locally and globally.
